DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - Firefighters in De Pere and the surrounding areas were called to a fire in an apartment building on Thursday night.
Just before 9 p.m. on October 30, firefighters with De Pere Fire Rescue say they were called to the 2100 block of Ryan Road in De Pere for a fire alarm report.
Crews arrived at the apartment building and were directed to a unit that had heavy smoke. The fire was coming from the stove, which was reportedly caused by unattended cooking.
The fire was contained to the stove and brought under control within 10 minutes.
All the residents who had evacuated were able to return to their apartments; however, the resident of the unit where the fire started has been displaced.
No injuries were reported, and authorities estimated the damage caused to be around
