COLUMBUS, Ohio — Uncertainty at airports across the country continues, as the government shutdown pushes forward.
Air traffic controllers and TSA employees received a zero-dollar paycheck this past week, and don't know when they'll be paid next. If you're planning to travel for the holidays, travel insurance might be on your mind.
"Since COVID, we've seen a significant and steady increase in the purchase of travel insurance," said Robert Gallagher, president of the U.S. Travel Insurance Association.
Gallagher said the commercial aviation industry has seen several issues over the past few years, with technology, infrastructure and now a government shutdown.
If you are planning to purchase any type of travel insurance policy, he recommends looking for "trip delay" and "trip interruption"
