DENVER (KDVR) — The employment impact from the end of the Salvation Army's programs at three Denver hotel shelters has been announced, with nearly 100 people facing end-of-year layoffs.
The Salvation Army filed a WARN notice with the state on Wednesday to share that all 93 employees of The Aspen, Tamarac Family Shelter and Stone Creek hotel shelters would be laid off as of Dec. 31, 2025.
The end of the city's partnership with the Salvation Army at the hotel shelters was announced in mid-August. The nonprofit said that its available funding for shelter operating costs had been expended, and so was withdrawing from the shelters to keep its other programs.
The Salvation Army Intermountain Division told FOX31 on Thursday evening that the WARN letter was part of the planned year-end service
