As the sun sets in Toronto on Friday, an army of ghosts, ghouls and K-Pop Demon Hunters, pillowcases in hand, will be unleashed across the city.

But in the bowels of downtown, under the roof of Rogers Centre, something even more menacing will begin to stir: the Los Angeles Dodgers and their fearsome starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto .

The conditions are indeed in place for a historic night in Toronto. It’s been 32 years since the Jays last won the World Series and on Friday, there’s a chance they could win it all again.

While the convergence of Halloween festivities and Jays watch parties could just as easily devolve into the stuff of nightmares, the fear of a Shohei Ohtani swing, for many, is meagre compared to the risk of missing Game 6.
