A man was sent to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the Niagara Gateway Information Centre in Grimsby late Thursday afternoon.
At 5:15 p.m., Niagara Regional Police were called to the information centre at South Service Road and Casablanca Boulevard.
Niagara Emergency Medical Service attended and transported the victim to hospital.
Police said the suspect fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The incident is being investigated by detectives in the 8 District criminal investigative bureau.
Police said detectives believe this was a targeted incident and that there is no ongoing risk to the public.
