Ra Studio hostage incident: Rohit Arya, who was gunned down by the Mumbai Police on Thursday after he held 18 people, including children, hostage in a studio, ran a cafe in Pune that closed down a few months ago.

Arya had held the 17 children, aged between 10 and 12 years, and an adult hostage at Ra Studio in the Mahavir Classik building and claimed that he wanted to have a conversation with the authorities as the Maharashtra Government had not paid the dues for his work in the School Education Department’s ‘Swacchata Monitor’ scheme, which he had conceptualised.
