TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—More than 300 American evacuees are arriving in Tampa on Friday from Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa.
Grey Bull Rescue, a veteran-led humanitarian rescue organization, is bringing 340 evacuees to Tampa.
"Our team landed on a dirt runway in Jamaica, located registered Americans, bussed them to safety, and is now bringing them home. Conditions there remain dire — no comms, limited food, and dangerous roads," a Grey Bull Rescue spokeswoman said.
This comes after Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane on Tuesday.
