Rural Metro firefighters extinguished a fully involved recreational vehicle fire Thursday morning near North Frontage Road and South Avenida Compadres.

Firefighters responded at about 8:11 a.m. Oct. 30, finding the RV engulfed in flames. Battalion Chief Aaron Mikolic said the driver told firefighters he had been on his way to get propane at the time of the fire.

“The driver made it out of the vehicle safely,” Mikolic said. “These are made of fiberglass, so they burn really hot. It was a total loss.”

Firefighters quickly pulled multiple hose lines and brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
