In a bold move to curb littering, the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) have joined forces to crack down on habitual offenders who dump waste on the city's streets. The civic agencies have taken a unique approach – dumping garbage right outside the homes of those who insist on littering.
On Thursday, the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) targeted around 200 households known for repeatedly dumping waste in public spaces.
In this drive, civic workers collected street litter and dropped it at the doorsteps of habitual violators, imposing fines ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000.
