KOCHI: Chennai based businessman Mohammed Shershad has been arrested for duping two people of Rs 40 lakh by promising them dividends and shareholding in the company he was a director of. Kochi South Police reached Chennai and arrested Sharshad. The businessman has been arrested for investment fraud.

The complaint was filed by Kochi natives. The company's CEO, a native of Tamil Nadu, is also an accused in the case along with Shershad. Mohammed Shershad is the one who had earlier made serious financial allegations against CPM state secretary MV Govindan and his son. Shershad had written a letter to the CPM Politburo alleging that UK-based Malayali businessman Rajesh Krishna and senior CPM leaders had made illegal transactions.
