CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Halloween falls on a Friday this year and law enforcement agencies throughout San Diego County are urging everyone to make safety part of their celebration.
“The main thing is sight and safety, so we always do light up necklaces, bracelets. The more the merrier just, so I can spot him easily and he can spot me. That’s our main concern, especially when the crowds are out," said local resident Chelsea Hurd.
As a parent, Hurd added that looking out for her son and his friends means trick-or-treating in a group.
“Now that they’re getting older, it's not always holding their hand anymore, which is kind of sad for moms but we let them go together," Hurd continued. "We talk about stopping at the end of streets, looking in driveways."
