The No. 2 seed Genesee Bulldogs outlasted the No. 7 Carey Panthers in a five-set match by a score of 22-25, 25-21, 13-25, 25-23, 15-5 in the first round of the Idaho Class 1A state volleyball tournament on Thursday at Coeur d’Alene High School.

With the loss, Carey takes on the No. 6 seed Leadore Mustangs in the elimination bracket at 11 a.m. Friday.
