It was a blustery Michigan afternoon when one mom discovered that her biggest Halloween nightmare wasn’t ghosts or ghouls — it was a giant, runaway pumpkin.

In Ring camera footage that has since gone viral, Katie Morgan struggles to corral her wayward 20-foot decoration as sudden gusts of wind turned her front yard into a scene of suburban chaos.

At one point, she calls her husband, Chris, at work, frantically asking “What do I do?” before dashing onto the lawn to stop the gigantic balloon.

“I thought, ‘This thing is going to take down our entire neighborhood, the elderly — everyone,” Morgan tells TODAY.com. “That pumpkin is taller than our house.”
