ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Halloween is known for it’s candy -- but what if you’re allergic? Or can’t have sugar? Do you just have to sit out the fun?
NO! At least, that’s what the Teal Pumpkin Project says -- where families sign up to put out teal pumpkins carrying friendly gifts or treats that pose no danger.
Medical experts say 1 in 13 American kids have food allergies, and may not have a fun time on Halloween if they can’t get something in their goody bag.
“There’s lots of kids with allergies so I give out some things like these are bouncy balls but they’re bats so they’re really cute,” says Rebecca -- who’s listed her house on the Teal Pumpkin Project website in the St. Louis area. “And then you know flashlights.
