Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for many parts of Metro Vancouver, Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast as thousands of trick-or-treaters prepare to head outside for Halloween.
The national forecaster says significant rainfall is expected, with 50 to 80 millimetres in places like Vancouver, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Bowen Island and Gibsons.
The wet weather is due to a “moisture laden frontal system” pushing onto B.C.’s coast, according to the warning.
Environment Canada says rain will fall through the morning and up until 9 p.m., when conditions are expected to ease.
Not all Metro Vancouver cities are included in Environment Canada's rainfall warning, but rain is still expected in places like Richmond, Delta, Surrey and Langley.
