As Tuesday's special election approaches, more California voters are leaning toward "Yes" on Proposition 50 than "No," according to a survey from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.
The Berkeley IGS Poll found that 60% of likely voters who were surveyed are voting "Yes," compared to 38% in favor of a "No" vote. The Nov. 4 special election essentially has one question for voters: Should California's lawmakers have the power to redraw the state's congressional lines for the next three elections?
Prop 50 is leading 63% to 35% among people who had already voted or intend to vote by mail, according to the poll. On the other hand, among people who intend to vote in person on Election Day, 70% intend to vote "No" and 28% intend to vote "Yes."
