ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Police announced Friday that a 10-year-old boy who was injured in a May 2025 shooting that killed his 9-year-old brother has died while in hospice care.

According to SLMPD, the 10-year-old boy, identified as Richard Neal, III, died from his injuries in a shooting on May 24, 2025.

His 9-year-old brother, Jordan Neal, was pronounced dead after the shooting.

The two were in the car with their father, 32-year-old Richard Neal Jr., and mother, Johnisha Hillard, heading home after celebrating her 29th birthday.

That same night, gunfire struck their vehicle, killing Jordan and severely injuring Neal, III. He was hospitalized in critical condition following the shooting.

Neal Jr. was also struck in the leg.
