SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)-- Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital transformed its hallways into a Halloween wonderland, so young patients can celebrate the holiday while in the hospital.
Over 60 staff members lined the hallways to give out candy to the children.
Gina Lozito, who manages the hospital's Child Life Program, has organized the event for over two decades. She's seen that for many families, the Halloween celebration at the hospital provided a sense of normalcy and joy.
"We've had parents cry because they thought their kid was gonna miss Halloween, and how grateful the kid was to be able to participate," Lozito said. "We've had parents so excited because it was their baby's first Halloween."
The hospital plans to continue this tradition next year, bringing more Halloween cheer t
