PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Starbucks baristas will hold a rally Saturday afternoon asking the company to work with them on a fair contract.
The workers from the Financial Plaza location of the coffee franchise will join “70 pickets in 60 cities,” calling for a contract, with a willingness to go on strike.
The rally will be held outside of their workplace.
According to the Starbucks Workers United, Starbucks has been “stonewalling” the workers.
Among workers’ demands are higher pay, better hours and improved on-the-job protections.
“Starbucks knows where we stand,” said Starbucks Workers United spokesperson Michelle Eisen.
