Srinagar, Oct 31: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today laid the foundation stone of the Central Veterinary Hospital at Athwajan, Srinagar, marking a major step towards strengthening veterinary infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
The project, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 11.91 crore, will serve as a state-of-the-art centre for veterinary treatment, diagnostics, and animal welfare service. The project is being executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department and will cater to the growing needs of livestock owners and dairy farmers in the vicinity. The Chief Minister said the establishment of the hospital will greatly benefit livestock farmers by providing modern veterinary services, disease control measures, and emergency care under one roof.
