Coronation Street's Daniel Brocklebank labelled former co-star Sue Cleaver a "beautiful friend" as he recalled his first day on the soap.

Daniel joined Coronation Street in 2014 to take on the role of reformed vicar Billy Mayhew. After various ups and downs in the romance department, he eventually fell in love and settled down with Paul Foreman.

Sadly, their love story ended last year when Paul died due to his motor neurone disease, leaving Billy struggling with grief and even turning to alcohol.

It appears the heartbreaking news won't end there for Billy, however, as his exit has been confirmed for next year.
