GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said two suspects are facing charges after a violent attack at the Greenville County Detention Center.

According to arrest warrants, Calvin Lee Thompson Jr. and Tishone Dunlap-Wright worked together to assault another inmate while detained at the jail.

The victim suffered “significant” blunt force trauma, severe internal bleeding, and went into cardiac arrest.

Officials said the victim was resuscitated but had to have surgery to remove their spleen and portions of their pancreas.

Thompson and Dunlap-Wright are charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, assault and battery by mob, and criminal conspiracy.

They were already facing charges for attempted murder, according to jail records.
