With the ongoing federal government shutdown and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funds expected to be unavailable to recipients Nov. 1, the City of Columbia and Boone County government announced an amended allocation of American Rescue Plan Act Funds.
The two governmental entities are providing $100,000 total to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri "to help provide immediate food assistance to individuals and families affected by the pause in federal benefits," a Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services news release noted.
