SALT LAKE CITY — A paraglider died on Thursday after police said he ran into power lines at Confluence Park in Hurricane and LaVerkin, Utah.
First responders were alerted to the crash by a telephone call, and upon arrival Sgt. Lucas Alfred with Washington County Sheriff’s Office said they found the man had died at the scene.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the LaVerkin Police Department, Intermountain Life Flight and Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue all assisted with the rescue call.

By 7 p.m. MDT, Washington County officials said the scene was still an active scene, and that an investigation was continuing.
