Lakeshore’s administration moved back into its renovated building in Belle River recently after almost 10 months scattered at makeshift locations throughout the community, and the timing couldn’t be better – the municipality is looking at substantial growth.
The Belle River offices underwent almost $1 million in renovations adding more office space, meeting rooms, washrooms, more public service space in the front of the building and an accessible entrance.
The building has been the home of the municipality’s administration since Essex County amalgamation in 1999.
Chief Administrative Officer Tyson Cragg said before renovations, administration and public service employees were scattered throughout the municipality and even in the building.
