EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The giving season will be here in just a matter of weeks. The Salvation Army of El Paso is ready to contribute. They're hosting their annual Red Kettle Run on Sunday, November 2nd.
The Salvation Army tells us the family-friendly 5-mile run and 1-mile walk brings the community together to raise funds that support their holiday food and shelter programs. The run also helps support The Salvation Army's mission, beginning with the purchase of 400 turkeys for local families in need.
Last year, The Salvation Army served 136,967 meals and provided 25,276 nights of shelter to people in need across El Paso. The funds raised from the run will go directly toward continuing those services.
