ATASCOCITA, Texas – An off-duty Harris County sheriff’s deputy fired his weapon at a subject in Atascocita Friday.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened in the 5300 block of Treewood Drive.

Details on what led to the shooting are limited at this time, but authorities say the man has been transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The deputy was not hurt.
