The Special Olympics issued an “urgent” open letter asking singer-songwriter Kid Rock after he used the “R-word” during an appearance on Fox News.

The open letter was shared after Kid Rock used the slur against disabled people during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime.” The two were discussing Halloween costumes when Watters mentioned he and his family were dressing up as the Scooby Doo characters.

“Guess what I’m going to be?” Kid Rock asked Watters while putting on a medical mask.

“Fauci?” Watters replied.

“A r------,” Kid Rock said to laughter from Watters.

“I guess you can be anything for Halloween,” he replied.

In its open letter, the Special Olympics pleaded with Kid Rock to “reject” using the “R-word” and to realize the impact of his words.
