Candidates for Greenville's City Council have spent months campaigning and canvasing ahead of the Nov. 4 election day.

There are five candidates running for three Greenville city council seats this year: Lillian Brock Flemming (D), Mike Kilgore (R), Tina Belge (D), Matt Alexander (R) and Wil Brasington (R).

Incumbent Brock Flemming is running against Kilgore in the race for the District 2 seat. Flemming has served on the council since 1981, while Kilgore is a newcomer in local politics. Belge and Alexander are vying for the soon-to-be open at-large seat, each boasting different experience in housing and development.
