A Niagara man convicted of incest involving his 14-year-old half-sister “dropped an atomic bomb” on their family, a local judge said.
“You have destroyed the young woman who sits here in court today,” Judge Cameron Watson told the offender in an Ontario court of justice in Welland on Wednesday.
The man, who cannot be named due to a publication ban imposed to protect the identity of the victim, was sentenced to five years in a penitentiary on charges of incest and sexual interference stemming from incidents that occurred in 2024 and 2025.
The judge told the offender the details of the offences “demonstrates the depth of depravity you are willing to go to for your own incredibly selfish needs.
“It is difficult to put into words what you did,” Watson said. “Nobody will recover from this.”
