One person has been charged with impaired driving following a three-vehicle collision at a busy St. Catharines intersection Thursday night.

At about 9 p.m. emergency responders were called to the intersection of Scott and Vine streets.

Niagara Regional Police said the driver of one of the involved vehicles was taken to an out-of-region hospital with injuries that were later determined not to be life-threatening.

The occupants of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries, police said.

The roads in the area were closed for several hours to secure the scene for a potential investigation by the NRP collision reconstruction unit. The roads were reopened once police were notified of the nature of the hospitalized person’s injuries.
