MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Federation of Educators has officially filed its intent to strike as talks continue on a new contract.
MFE represents teachers, educational support professionals and adult education teachers. The union is fighting for better pay, pay parity for adult educators, limits on class sizes, and enhanced special education staffing. In a recent vote , union members overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike.
Filing an intent to strike does not mean a strike will happen, MFE says, adding they are "committed to reaching a fair agreement with Minneapolis Public Schools as soon as possible."
