ALBION, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania man, sentenced on child rape charges, was found unresponsive in his cell at SCI Albion Wednesday.

Prison staff conducted life-saving measures on Andy Ortiz, 25, who was ultimately pronounced dead at 12:18 a.m. Oct. 29, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

Ortiz has been at SCI Albion since Feb. 19 of this year, after being transferred from SCI Phoenix, where you had been since June 2022. Ortiz was originally sentenced after pleading guilty to charges that included rape of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, according to his 2020 court dockets.
