MADISON, Wis. -- A Madison police officer who was seriously injured after a tow truck crashed into his squad car at the end of a chase was released from a hospital Friday.
Officer Ryan Kimberley was given a guard of honor by those who assisted in his recovery, as well as law enforcement and first responders from around Dane County, as he exited Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
Kimberley was seriously injured in a head-on crash with a tow truck while helping Monona police end a chase. His K9 partner, Freddie, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
