WHITEHOUSE, Texas — It was all treats for Whitehouse ISD teachers on Friday as instructors across the district received over $92,000 in grants as part of the Whitehouse Education Foundation's 12th annual Surprise Patrol.
"Surprise Patrol is one of my favorite days in Whitehouse," Kell Flanagan, president of the Whitehouse ISD Education Foundation, said. "It's a blast seeing the excitement amongst the teachers and students as we deliver checks."
According to a Whitehouse ISD news release, "For the fall grant cycle (awarded on Friday), teachers can apply for grants up to $5,000 for individual or group projects."
Past grants have included funds for math and literacy tools, a sensory sanctuary for students with special needs and engineering kits.
