KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Treasury Department is warning that the government will run out of money to pay the troops on November 15, but some service members have already felt the effects.

National Guard and Reserve Units across the country have canceled critical training exercises because they are unable to pay service members during the government shutdown. Reserve Organization of America Director of Policy Matthew Schwartzman said service members need these essential services.

"For those members who have had their drill weekends canceled, that impacts them financially from the drill pay that they would have received," said Schwartzman.
