October proved to be a tough month for Delhi residents, as the city's air quality not only worsened but also set several new records. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), October 2025 was the second most polluted October in the past five years. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) for the month stood at 224, placing it in the 'poor' category.

While this figure is slightly better than last October's 234, it remains higher than the AQI levels recorded in 2023 (218), 2022 (210), and 2021 (173).
