MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - The Brady Street Business Improvement District has been working with the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) in recent days to have a safety plan in place for Halloween weekend.

Starting Friday night, Oct. 31, MPD and private security teams will be able to check 31 security cameras on their mobile devices, to scope out potential problems.

“MPD has access to our cameras,” Brady Street BID Director Michael Sander said. “That’ll be the first time we’re doing that to see if they see something happening, they can stop the issue before it becomes a problem.”

There is also a new SMS message system that will allow businesses to quickly inform MPD about issues at the bars and restaurants.
