COLLEGE STATION, Texas — An A&M Consolidated High School staff member has been recognized with a prestigious honor in communications.

Brian Alford, a speech and debate coach at A&M Consolidated High School, has been named as Secondary Educator of the Year by the Texas Speech Communication Association (TSCA), the district has announced.

According to College Station ISD, Alford was nominated for the honor by Heather Strawn, the speech and debate coach at College Station High School. Strawn, who serves as the District 6 Chair for the TSCA, gathered letters of recommendation from colleagues, students and school administration to nominate Alford, according to the district.
