Former Manchester United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen believes that Ruben Amorim's side are in the title race. United sit six points off league leaders Arsenal and are enjoying their best run under the Portuguese tactician after three successive wins.
They sit sixth in the table behind neighbours Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as surprise packages in Bournemouth and Sunderland. Fortunes at Old Trafford have been far from fruitful after enduring some of their worst performances in their history in the top-flight.
Meulensteen believes the new signings are beginning to come into their own and without the added stress of midweek European football, the Dutchman feels that this season will be the one they can fight back in England's top-flight. READ MORE
