TORONTO - The Montreal Alouettes will be playing without defensive tackle Shawn Oakman when they face the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Saturday’s East Division semifinal.
The Canadian Football League has suspended the 33-year-old Oakman “indefinitely” for violating its Gender-Based Violence and Harassment Policy.
The league was made aware of the allegations on Thursday and immediately initiated a third-party investigation, which included interviews with Oakman and the complainant.
The investigation revealed that following a dispute, Oakman threatened to send sexually explicit material to an intimate partner’s child, who is a minor.
