Redshirt sophomore Ty Watters of the West Virginia wrestling team will compete in the 2025 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, N.J., on Saturday.
Watters, a West Allegheny grad, will face Stanford's Daniel Cardenas at 157 pounds. Watters makes his second appearance at the All-Star Classic after competing in the event last season. He lost to Penn State's Shayne Van Ness 16-4.
Watters is coming off a season in which he finished 6-0 but had his season cut short because of an injury. The Imperial native was an NCAA All-American with a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds during his freshman season.
