JOHNSTON, Iowa — Fareway Stores, Inc. is launching a month-long initiative in November to combat food insecurity in local communities. The company says it is encouraging customers to get involved by offering several ways to contribute. Customers can purchase pre-bagged, SNAP-eligible food items at any Fareway location. These donations will be sent to local food banks or pantries. Additionally, shoppers can donate individual food items or make monetary contributions at checkout. Fareway will match all monetary donations, doubling the impact. “At Fareway, our ‘Lead with Love’ mission is more than a motto—it’s a movement,” Reynolds Cramer, CEO of Fareway Stores, Inc. said. “We’re deeply grateful to our customers who join us in supporting those who need it most."
