New Delhi: Rising Indian shuttler Unnati Hooda continued her stellar run at the Hylo Open Super 500 badminton tournament with a stunning victory over 4th seed Hsiang Ti Lin of Chinese Taipei on Friday. 17-year-old Unnati defeated Ti Lin in straight games to book her spot in the women’s singles semi-finals of the tournament in Germany.
Unnati displayed incredible composure against fourth seed Ti Lin to stun her 22-20, 21-13 in 47 minutes in the high-pressure quarterfinal clash. The Indian, who is ranked 34 in the BWF world rankings, also avenged her loss to the 24th-ranked Chinese Taipei star during the Malaysia Masters earlier this year. She will now take on Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani in the semi-finals on Saturday.
