Newly released video shows a shootout between Miami-Dade sheriff's deputies and a man who they say shot a woman inside a west Miami-Dade apartment in August.

On Aug. 26, Javier Jara shot Yudaisy Salgueiro in the chest, investigators said. A frantic 911 caller described what he heard.

“Somebody with a gun wants to kill his wife,” the caller said. “Oh my God, he's shooting three times, he’s shooting three, four times."

Investigators said a neighbor then recorded Jara's erratic behavior, including the moment he dove headfirst through an apartment window.

The woman's father told them Jara pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger, but the gun malfunctioned, according to investigators.
