CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A high school basketball coach’s quick thinking and CPR training helped save two overdose victims at a Chesterfield convenience store.
Tim Bowdern was making his daily stop at an On The Run store when he found a man unconscious on the floor by the electronic slot machines.
“There’s a man laying on the ground. Nobody’s paying attention at all. He’s just laying there on his side,” Bowdern said.
Bowdern told an employee to call 911 and began administering aid to the unresponsive man.
“We got him over on his side, and that’s when we saw drugs, some kind of a pipe,” Bowdern said.
He started chest compressions until a Chesterfield police officer arrived and administered naloxone.
“She went right to it and probably saved his life. He was blue for at least
