WEBB CITY, Mo. — Despite two first half fumbles, the Webb City High School Cardinals jumped out to a 31-7 halftime lead en route to a 52-21 win over Parkview High School in their Class 5 District 6 opener at Cardinal Stadium.
The Cardinals scored within the first 1:42 of the game off a four-play, 62-yard drive that included a 34-yard pass from Braden Strickland to Trae Turner, a 12-yard completion from Strickland to Gabe Johnson and a 13-yard run on a quarterback keeper by Strickland. Mason Williams capped off the drive with a touchdown on a first and goal from the Vikings 3-yard line. Diego Aldrete drilled the point after to put Webb City up 7-0 at the 10:14 mark. ×
