WALKERSVILLE — Middletown didn't exactly close out the regular season in style. All of the penalties ensured that.
But the Knights made their typical array of big plays — starting with quarterback Brittin Poffenbarger's 58-yard run on the first play from scrimmage — to overwhelm Walkersville 40-7 and feel pretty good about themselves as they head into the Class 2A-1A West playoffs next week as the No. 1 seed.
