PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - On Halloween, Martin County and Paintsville faced each other, with the Cardinals winning, 41-28.
In the first quarter, Devan Maynard started Martin County off with a 35-yard quarterback keeper that put the Cardinals’ at the 30-yard line.
Later in the drive, Crayson Lafferty got the ball off of a quick pitch, scoring a six-yard rushing touchdown to get Martin Co. on the board first.
At the end of the first quarter, the Cardinals led, 7-0.
The Tigers were quick to respond in the second frame, thanks to a six-yard quarterback keeper.
Paintsville missed the PAT, making their deficit one point.
The Tigers will head to Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the first round of the playoffs.
