PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - One person has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Southeast Portland on Friday night.

Portland Police responded to an accident near SE Hawthorne Blvd and SE 22nd at around 7:45 p.m.

The person who was hit was taken the the hospital with injuries that appear to be potentially life-threatening, according to PPB.

The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

SE Hawthorne is closed between SE 21st and SE 23rd as crews continue working at the scene.
